Our Tours in and around Berlin
On our tours, we encourage you to become temporary locals. We will explore Berlin as Berliners do: on foot, making use of public transport as needed. You set the pace – we are happy to break for coffee or a bite to eat as often as you like.
The main sights in Berlin can be covered on a tour of three to four hours. Excursions to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp memorial and Potsdam usually last six hours (including transportation time). Trips to Dresden and Wittenberg require a full day. These figures are approximations and we are happy to adjust the itinerary to your specific interests.
We are happy to meet you at your hotel or wherever is convenient for you.
Touring with us has distinct advantages:
We love history – Each of us is an academically trained historian with a passion for telling stories.
We are experienced – Guiding is learning by doing; we have almost two decades of experience between us.
We are locals who love Berlin – We are German speakers and the stories we tell have a personal as well as historical dimension.
We have an international background – We know where you're coming from and have an insider’s as well as outsider’s perspective.
We know Europe – We're both guides for Rick Steves leading groups all over the continent and we don't lose sight of the bigger picture.
We know the industry – We've both worked with travel agents and vendors and understand their needs.
